Basic ingredients: Barbora Stiess runs this catchily named cookery school from her roomy Georgian home and kitchen based in Clifton, Bristol. Having trained at Leiths and worked under Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines, Stiess blends the solid practical cookery with restaurant kitchen flair. Courses range from a two-hour Knife Skills class (£65) to tailor-made days (from £95 for an evening class). In addition there is a whole range of tasting events from tea and coffee to whisky, wine and “tricky foods”.
They say: We have engineered a range of user-friendly cookery classes to bridge the gap between fine dining and home cooking. I really love seeing all of the surprise and delight when my students create something they never thought they could.
We say: The subscription-only online video cookery lessons are a smart idea.
