Basic ingredients: Based in a Georgian house in the village of Bentley on the Surrey/Hampshire borders, the Old Rectory Cookery School was once the home of Jane Austen’s brother Henry. Experienced chefs Linda Fuller and Alison Barrett lead courses on Cooking for Gap Year Jobs (2 weeks), Student Survival (4 days) and Confident Entertaining (1 day). Daytime classes include Pies, Sauces, Posh Picnics and the occasional seasonal demonstrations are excellent value at around £25.
They say: Lots of individual tuition is always guaranteed with time to answer questions on ingredients and techniques as the day goes along.
We say: Like a tasty well prepared dish this cookery school, which is only 40 miles from London, comprises well balanced ingredients that seem to make students feel comfortable and gain confidence. It is also a supporter of Hampshire Fare, a regional organisation that champions the county’s best food and drink.

My son and his wife have just moved to Bentley and seeing your cookery school on my way home a plan or two began to form. My son is a keen cook and my husband likes to cook but would really like to learn how to do it properly. I would be very pleased to receive details of your courses.
Thank you
