The Cambridge Cookery School offers a really great range of courses, taught by excellent chefs in a beautiful and practical teaching kitchen. Their classes are fun, hospitable and you really learn something while you are there. If I had more time, I would go every week!

The Cambridge Cookery School is exceptional. The staff and range of courses, for children and adults, are inspirational.

  4. Jackie Finlay says:

My daughter and I enjoyed a most stimulating and enjoyable day at the cookery school in Bath. The facilities the school offered were amazing; the helpfulness of all the staff as well as the inspiring recipes, the extraordinarily professional instruction for the many hours we enjoyed was worth every penny of the fee. Rachel Demuth is to be congratulated on her professionalism and gentle expertise, and I came away more informed and so inspired! I cannot recommend Rachel Demuth and the cookery school more highly.

I am currently following the 8-evening modern cookery course at Cambridge Cookery School, and have found it to be excellent. I have learned a great deal, and the atmosphere is very good. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course.

Great School, the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School – should be top of the list

  7. Andy Burton says:

Dancing Trousers has a truly rare quality such that a day spent in the Kitchen there is at the same time therapeutic, challenging and fun, As an amateur, I have really enjoyed the combination of skills training, tips and practical experience that really develops your confidence and interest to try new dishes. Alexis runs a great school that is down to earth, practical and proven.

  8. Daniel Young says:

Had great fun at Cambridge Cookery School, their Italian class was inspiring to say the least. Practical and really hands-on which is most important, as well as superb staff! Took more out of the single class than I have from 3 others combined. Daniel

  9. Sue Nashe says:

I booked a day’s course for my daughter at Dancing Trousers and was very impressed with Alexis’ helpful and informative response to my queries. She was very flexible ensuring that my daughter had experience in pastry making, something she really needed help with. The feedback after the day’s cooking was extremely positive and long lasting, as well as a most enjoyable day. I would happily recommend Dancing Trousers to anyone looking for professional but friendly cooking experience.

The Edinburgh cookery school has a natural flair for designing wonderful courses that attract a wide range of individuals and cover a wide range of cuisines. Tor and Fiona run a great cookery school whilst also keeping an eye on giving a little back to the local community.

  11. Janieann McCracken says:

My son Freddie spent a year at Edinburgh New Town Cook School and it has set him up for life. First job was a toss up between Ramsay’s 3 star restaurant in Chelsea and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir. Fiona and her team have trained him well – simply superb!

My husband knew I wanted to make French pastries and gave me a gift certificate to Cambridge Cookery School for a Valentine’s Day present. I had a wonderful day making lovely pastries which my family thoroughly enjoyed. A terrific gift and a terrific school.

  13. Michael Sheridan says:

Great, expert teaching given by knowledgeable and experienced cooks in a relaxed, friendly manner and in an excellent learning environment. Learning something new every five minutes, I found the information is quickly learnt in the classroom and easily transferred to the kitchen, including the tit bits of info. I have attended a couple of their classes and would highly recommend them to others, experienced cooks or novices.
