Basic Ingredients: Chef Director, Jason Palin, from the Cheshire Cookery School has a few years culinary experience under his chef’s hat. He has cooked around the world and on movie location sets as well as under Raymond Blanc, at Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, and is bursting to share all his knowledge (and stories) with fellow foodies. The swanky facilities in Altrincham are neat and professional but the atmosphere is laid back and inviting, welcoming all ages and expertise of would-be cook. Evening courses are £75, full day courses £150 and kids’ courses £45. They range from Italian, Spanish and Indian cooking to bread-making, cupcake workshops and ‘Dinner Parties Made Easy’.
They say: The school was born out of a philosophy that good food is at the heart of all that matters in life. It is our firm belief that the ability to cook well is within everyone’s capability.
We say: Look out for special one-off day courses hosted by the affable celebrated chef, Simon Rimmer offering hands-on demonstration and tuition.
